The upward facing dog pose, Urdhva Mukha Svanasana, is a strong back bend where the body rests on the hands and feet. It develops strong legs and arms, and also teaches us the preliminary requirements of opening the chest and safely bending backwards. It is a demanding, but exhilarating pose.
